Wetakeiya House is a vacation villa that exemplifies the aesthetic blend of European architecture – with its classic columns and French Louvre design components – and tropical elegance. Interiors are appointed with mostly finely finished and exquisitely crafted dark, weathered as well as woven wood furnishings and fixtures with a few contemporary, lavish pieces. Amenities are distinctively of hotel and resort grade – to enhance ease and fun for each and every guest. Built on the edge of a cliff above the sea, Wetakeiya House creates for you a highland break with a truly cozy and quaint appeal.
The villa has three air-conditioned bedrooms. The master bedroom has a draped, king-sized bed, as well as a dedicated bathroom with a rain shower. There are two more guest rooms – one with a draped, queen-sized bed, and the other, with a draped, double bed. Both bedrooms have dedicated bathrooms with rain showers. Both also open out to a shared, covered terrace and to a pond.
On the middle level of the extensive and terraced garden’s well-kept lawn is the 8.5-meter swimming pool. Immerse yourself in its inviting, crystal clear waters for some mindless wading. Or, pull everyone in for some splashy fun and games. From the water, you can lounge by the picnic table with a built-in umbrella on the garden’s topmost level as you enjoy a cool, fruity drink. Or, doze off on the hefty and wide day beds or on the hammock on the villa’s covered terrace as a balmy breeze blows by.
At the villa’s airy common area is the living area with its contemporary and lavish sofas. Here, you can all gather and enjoy one another’s company. On the covered terrace – opposite the day beds and the hammock – is the alfresco dining area. On its long, timber wood table that accommodates 10, you can all get a taste of authentic local cuisine – as well as international favorites – dished out by the resident chef at the villa’s well-equipped, modern kitchen. At the garden’s lower level is a gazebo where you can spend some me time.
On duty to deliver the villa’s everyday services is a staff that’s comprised of a chef, a gardener as well as housekeepers and security personnel. The chef’s services will be charged separately.
Wetakeiya House is situated in Dikwella. A five-minute walk from the villa are two beautiful beaches where you can spend the day swimming. Another five minutes on foot is the center of town – the jump-off point to Wewurukannala Vihara where you will find the 50-meter high Buddha – the tallest in Sri-Lanka – as well as paintings about his life. From here, you can also head to Hoo-maniya – the only known natural and amazing blow-hole in Sri-Lanka.
