Super cosy family-friendly villa
Down a tea plantation-lined drive, Kumbura was magical from the start. The house felt like a home away from home – very cosy, the type of place you can just curl up on a sofa and relax. The staff – particularly Manjula - were absolutely lovely, so smiley! Fantastic pool overlooking the rice paddy fields – plus the pool is in the middle of the villa so great for keeping an eye on little ones. Would love to go back.
The villa is absolutely gorgeous. The pool and outdoor spaces with an expansive view of the paddy fields was exceptional. The chef, Manjula, and all of the staff at the villa are wonderful and made us feel so comfortable and taken care of!
the perfect peaceful getaway
We just got home from an 11 night stay at Villa Alba, and we already want to go back! We had the best time! The location of the villa is so peaceful, surrounded by beautiful nature and lots of animal spotting (a monkey family playing in the trees, peacocks and water buffaloes in the fields below and plenty of beautiful birds. We even came across a big monitor lizard on the road one morning). It’s only a 10 min tuc-tuc drive to the nearest beach and we spent most da1
Superb villa, the best place I've spent time, every detail is thought out to the smallest detail for your comfort, even the grass on the lawn is especially soft. Beautiful stylish interior, delicious food, excellent presentation of food, caring staff, everything is perfect. Special thanks to Nadith for hospitality. We will definitely return.
Villa Mayurana is beautiful. The room was big and the decoration was lovely. It is located in the cinnamon hills, so we can have a beautiful view from there. Besides its location in the jungle, it is not very far from the beach.
The setting is beautiful, fabulous pool and grounds. 3 bedrooms are master size, 2 smaller but v accurately described in villa advert. Staff beyond eonderful.. Want a crab curry ? No problem! Mojito or g and t delivered to the pool, laundry done, totally looked after. We all loved it and would love to return. It was our favourite place in Sri Lanka ( surpassed Tea Trails!)
This was my first time in Sri Lanka staying @ the Ivory house with 5 friends and we all can't wait to go back! Staff so friendly and accommodating, the chef's food amazing ..just tell him what you want and he'll do it! The house is so comfortable and stylish while keeping a both modern and old feel of Sri Lanka. The pool overlooking green rice fields was definitely a highlight! Great value for money and just a short drive to the beach and fort. Highly recommended .
This was our first trip to Sri Lanka and our first stay at Ivory House.
We had obviously seen pictures of Ivory House but were blown away at its incredible location and understated beauty, with Sunil and the team waiting on the veranda with fresh fruit cocktails on our arrival! The whole team looked after our every need, and every meal surpassed our expectations in presentation and taste.
Lying by the pool, heading into town or down to the beach, Sunil and the team were on hand to arrange ev1
Ivory House is situated in a quiet lane set among paddy fields with stunning views. You really feel like you're right there in rural Sri Lanka. The property is beautiful and well appointed with very comfortable and spacious living rooms and comfortable bedrooms with en suite bathrooms and outdoor showers. The gardens are attractive and well maintained and the pool is fabulous - again with those stunning paddy field views.
