The photos don't do this place justice, I fell completely in love. The second I walked in and saw the views I was awestruck by the magnificent views, we stayed in Sri Lanka for a month and we spent most of our trip at Villa Vista. The crew became like family ♥️ Special thanks to Vish, Promod, Parsanna and Asha.
The location is breathtaking, sited on the top of a cliff dominating the whole Welligama bay and Mirissa Harbour, a few steps from a quiet and beautiful temple and two almost private beaches.
The house has a stunning design, but yet is very cosy, with its huge open air living and dining room making it perfect for the few rainy days, and the pool overlooking the ocean.
The staff is great, with a particular thank you to Sumate for his kindness, and for organizing with the cool such nice dinners.1
This Geoffrey Bawa - designed villa is truly special.
There are living and dining areas in the open-plan, semi-al fresco common area at the front of the house, where you can just spend time, reading, eating or just being mesmerised by the view. There's also a huge lawn to run around on, or just chill in the pool which overlooks the ocean. We loved the lush garden and how the coconut trees framed every scene.
Guests can also retreat indoors towards the back of the house, where the 3 bedrooms1
Staying here was heaven for us. We had been travelling in this country for more then 3 weeks and this was the perfect place to end it: living like gods, peacefull on the hill. Large and clean rooms, nice swimming pool, friendly staff and yes it's true: the food they serve is amazing. Even if we try hard, we simply can't find a negative thing to mention.. The road to the place is steep but a tuktuk will take you up or down easily. We found out about this place via the brand new edition of Lonely1
Beautiful place, great service and baby friendly (we travelled with our 1-year old daughter and she was given a cot, high chair, swimming rings and plenty of smiles!). That said, it is also great for couples as there are different villas. Thanks Marcy and all for a lovely stay. Would definitely recommend!
I would go back in a heartbeat! My boyfriend and (both mid 20s) stayed her for two nights as part of a longer trip around Sri Lanka and this was by far the best place we stayed at. We were extremely lucky to be staying at the house on our own, which was a real treat. Everything is absolutely perfect - the pool, the house, the garden, the wildlife, the staff.
The beach is only about 2min walk away and it is also beautiful.
Just about to leave Siri Wedamadura after two weeks and we're feeling rather emotional. It's truly an amazing place to stay, with fantastic staff and animals (especially Mango the dog). We all feel very relaxed, and will definitely be back soon! The house is beautifully decorated with lovely antique furniture from mainly local sources, creating an incredibly calm atmosphere. Gamage the chef is truly talented and every meal was divine (we want to take him with us... as well as Mango). We are tru1
