Hundun Villas is a splendid beach getaway located at a beautiful bay in Talalla, Sri Lanka. This gorgeous Dutch colonial-style luxury villa was built in 1895 and it has been restored to keep the old-age charm and meet modern standards of luxury living at the same time. Breathtaking views, a fabulous pool, 8 luxury suites, this villa is great for big groups, families and even special events and celebrations.
The villa has 8 bedrooms and all of them are air-conditioned and fitted with elegant canopied beds. The rooms are equipped with satellite televisions, safety deposit boxes and minibars. There is complimentary wifi in all rooms and every room has access to a bathroom with luxury toiletries catered for. The suites are designed with honey-colored wooden floors, high ceilings and whitewashed furnishings, exuding warmth and colonial elegance. 2 of the rooms have their own verandah and courtyards and the master suite has a decadent en-suite bathroom with a freestanding tub.
The garden is surrounded by lush palm trees and scenting frangipanis. It couldn’t be any more tropical and idyllic. In the heart of the outdoor area glistens the villa’s sparkling swimming pool, encompassed by a timber deck with sun loungers and parasols. Kids can play on the manicured green grass lawn in the shade of trees while parents sip cocktails by the poolside. Wonderful!
The living room is designed with natural brick wall stones, high ceilings and antique blue-painted wooden doors. There is plenty of natural sunlight and the living space is airy and bright. There are plenty of places to sit and relax, there is a communal dining area and there is a modern kitchen with a bar and high chairs, creating yet another hang-out spot inside the villa. Handun Villas also has its own tranquil spa room for in-villa massages and spa treatments.
A wonderful, dedicated team of staff is available at the villa to assist anytime, take care of the household and make you feel comfortable throughout your stay.
Just 50 metres from Talalla Beach and 10 km from the city off the city of Matara, Hundun Villas has a terrific location for beach lovers travelling to the south of Sri Lanka. Golden sands, the clearest blue waters and a peaceful atmosphere, this is a great place to relax and recharge with friends and family. Other beaches nearby include Gandara Beach and Noonnawella. You can explore famous beach towns such as Mirrissa and spot amazing wildlife in national parks such as Yala and Udawalawe.
10/10Relaxing experience at Handun Villas A one night stay at Handun Villas, Talalla was absolutely relaxing and enjoyable. The staff were extremely accommodating and the food was excellent. We were well looked after and they were helpful to find us transport to visit Hiriketiya in the evening also. All in all a lovely stay and plan to return later in the year during the season.
10/10An amazing Colonial Experience A wonderful colonial bungalow transformed into a bespoke boutique villa, We really enjoyed our stay here. The property is a Hueenery age Coconut plantation with lush greenery all around. The Villa is a well-maintained traditional bungalow with all the modern amenities of a modern Villa. We spent a lot of time walking the gardens and saw a couple of peacocks as well, along with chilling in the extremely nice pool that overlooks the garden. The food was on point with special emphasis on Authentical Sri Lankan meals along with some great seafood western dishes.
10/10Handun Villas is a Gem of a Stay - Outstanding Rooms, Surroundings and Staff A wonderful place to stay. Just a few hundred metres from the Beach at Kottegoda. Set far back from the road on a wonderful Colonial Style Villa, surrounded by Coconut Trees and beautiful planting, the driveway to the Villa itself is regal and stunning.. Peacocks, pranced across the lawns and a small troop of playful monkeys entertained us for hours as they play in the trees near our Villa. The rooms are tastefully decorated, with outdoor bathrooms that allow the rain to fall into the room, which is fitted with high quality fittings. The Chef and Staff at Handun Villas provide excellent food and 1st class service. We were impressed and would happily return.. Well Done all. Thank you Heshan
