The Chalet is a two-bedroom holiday haven in the suburbs of Galle city near the sea. The beautiful bungalow exudes a sophisticated calm reflecting in its minimal, Sri Lankan interiors; it has been designed in a typical Dutch-inspired fashion with wooden beams, antique furniture, polished wood, and yellowing walls. It has a lavish garden with a private swimming pool and even other modern conveniences that not only ensure you are at ease but also enable you to make the most of your holiday. Enjoy a memorable holiday with your loved ones while also enjoying the serenity of this area.
The Chalet has two, well-furnished, and air-conditioned bedrooms one of which is a master bedroom; it is the largest room furnished with a four-poster double bed swathed in a sheer, white mosquito net for a comfortable, sound sleep. The second bedroom has three, canopied single beds ideal for children or even adults. Large windows ensure constant flow of fresh air and natural light during daytime. Each bedroom comes with an en-suite bathroom that is spacious, fitted with modern amenities, and large shower areas as well.
Amidst verdant nature featuring flowering plants, birds chirping, towering palm trees, and others, there resides the 6-metre swimming pool bordered by manicured gardens. Just beside it, the shingled-roof and yellow walls of the villa complement the laidback exterior. The lawns are expansive so that kids can run around with ease while you relax on the sun chairs found beside the pool. Dense foliage allows you to enjoy your privacy without any interruptions or interference.
The landscape of the villa is such that it even houses beautiful lotus ponds bordered by a hotbed with rocks, pebbles, and plants. As you enter through the antique wooden doors, you will be greeted by the homey living space at The Chalet. The room is furnished with comfortable arm chairs, a television set for your entertainment, and a cosy L-shaped sofa with a velvet upholstery. When you wish to retire during the evenings, especially after a day of walking and adventures, then the living room is the perfect spot to rest in.
Outside on the patio, overlooking the lush, green gardens, there are some sofas and chairs so you can enjoy a cup of tea or some snacks while spending time with your family and friends. You will also find the four-seater dining table all set up on the patio for a nice, alfresco style dinner in the evenings or a scrumptious breakfast in the morning. The kitchen is indoors and is fully-equipped with several amenities and modern appliances for your convenience.
With a friendly staff, you know you’re in good hands since they will take care to provide you with everything you may need during your stay. The villa chef is happy to take on any dietary requests and does a mean seafood BBQ with the freshest catch of the day. Some of these services are available complimentary while some are charged extra. Be sure to consult with the manager to inquire of the same.
Set in a rural area, the villa is located in a quiet and serene spot near the sea so you can be sure to take long, scenic walks simply immersing yourself in the serenity of the surrounding areas. Head to the main city to see some amazing sights such as the Galle Fort and other Dutch-inspired buildings.
10/10Nice and tranquil oasis perfect for families! We stayed in The Chalet for 5 nights! The house is lovely and we really enjoyed the outdoor space. Staff is very nice, food is good and when there was a construction going on at the neighbor we were offered a nice solution. This is a quiet part of the coastal stretch but there are many nice restaurants and things to do a short tuktuk ride away.
