Villa Max Wadiya is a Sri Lankan holiday home found in the fishing village of Ambalangoda with a spectacular coastline and the ocean just minutes from where you stand. The villa is essentially a tropical home with open spaces that lead directly to the expansive lawns, ample outdoor seating where you can enjoy a hearty breakfast while the spectacular views keep you company. The sounds of nature are all you will hear while resting on the sun chairs beside the infinity pool or lounging on the garden. The villa features five bedrooms – three in the main building and two found separately in self-contained suites.

There are five bedrooms at Villa Max Wadiya and three of these you will find tucked away in the main villa building. Each of these en-suite bedrooms are furnished with four-poster, canopied king-sized beds with mosquito nets to keep the little monsters at bay. Large windows or doors allow you sufficient views of the veranda and garden.
Two bedrooms are found in individual pavilions that not only contain the bedroom but also a living room, en-suite bathroom, mini pantry, and dressing area. These are self-contained units perfect for those looking for a more private setting. The bedrooms are again spacious and comfortable so you will not want for anything.

Through palm trees and dense flora in the gardens, you can clearly enjoy a wholesome view of the ocean reaching as far as the eyes can see. A 20-metre swimming pool is the infinity pool you never knew you needed as it extends out to the meet the unsuspecting water for an absolutely magical experience. There is a traditional gazebo just on the edge from where you can enjoy the view in luxurious comfort. Dine outdoors on the gardens under the stars against a picture-perfect setting.
You can either relax on the veranda where there are comfortable wicker chairs overlooking the ocean view or head indoors to the lavish living area separated via sliding glass doors. The living room features comfortable armchairs and wooden sofas in a tropical setting with indoor plants, the view taking centre stage and ceiling fans keeping the room cool and breezy. The room has been decorated with locally-obtained art pieces and intriguing items.
The dining area sits right at the entrance to a beautiful space where when you have such a nice view the food tends to taste even more delicious than it usually does. There is ample seating for everyone so you can have a proper feast with your loved ones. The kitchen is fully-equipped leaving no stone unturned to provide you with modern amenities in this rustic, traditional home.
To make your holiday all the more special and memorable, the staff at Villa Max Wadiya will go out of their way to welcome you and serve you with generosity and kindness. They will look after the daily household chores and upon request will even prepare the most delicious meals made from fresh ingredients sourced locally. Arranging transportation, nature walks, and day-trips is also something they can do, if you wish.
The serene and quiet villa of Ambalangoda is a bit of ways from other parts of Sri Lanka as this could well be your personal slice of heaven. You will not find much traffic here and you can easily find the beach to be secluded. Enjoy watching the local fishermen doing their jobs while the tropical breeze keeps you company.
10/10We really enjoyed our short 3-day stay at Max Wadiya. This is a rare gem that ticked all the boxes! Superb beachfront, well maintained gardens & pool, and excellent service from the manager Ranjan and his team. If you are after a spot to relax & chill out away from the hustle & bustle of SL, then this is the place!
10/10Beautiful even at monsoon season At the end of the monsoon season we enjoyed the hospitality and tranquility of Max Wadiya. The hospitality was second to none, I am a repeated customer and am already looking forward to returning soon. Recommend cooking classes on site as all the meals prepared are master chef quality. Nothing was too hard for the friendly staff. They are happy to organise any excursions etc
10/10To Max Wadiya Team, You guys have been incredible since the moment we arrived. We came on our first family sun holiday with our baby girl Isla (Who turned one on 18th march) You have been so good to Isla. She has had the best time exploring, playing in the pool, napping in the hammock (like a queen) & most importantly the unique experience of releasing baby sea turtles every evening! She has laughed & smiled so much the past 6 days! Thank you for being so wonderful! we can't go without mentioning the food! We will be dreaming of Ranjan & Co's amazing Srilankan curries. We will dream - until nest time! We will be back! lots of love.
10/10Such a Lovely Place and relaxing Stay! Such a lovely place - we extended twice our stay. First planned a week then two then an extra 4 nights. So we had a wonderful stay - which was made feeling like home by the whole Max Wadiya team. And thanks to Ranjan it will always be in our heart…Not to forget Ruth & Arthur giving the stay some special atmosphere having sunset drinks and talks and background infos about the place. Great and spacious Suite, big pool, sunset dinning and private clean beach with a lot of big waves - what else do you need to relax - yes a private crew helping you through the day and with every wish! We would love keeping this little gem all for our own… I would also recommend take a TukTuk to go to town or surfing beach Hikkaduwa and a Safari@Udawalawe!
10/10Thank you so much for a wonderful stay at Max Wadiya. Celebrating Christmas & New Years eve here has been an amazing experience. we loved the house, the pool, the beach, the food, but above all, we loved Ranjan and his excellent staff who all made our stay the most comfortable we could have possibly wished for. The trips we did were great and thanks to Ranjan everything always went smooth and we really had nothing to worry about! Thanks again we hope to come bak!
