Highgrove Estate is a restored luxurious, English bungalow that belonged to a planter in the 19th century. Nestled atop the edge of a ridge with sweeping views across the verdant tea plantations on the hillside of Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka. Different from other parts of the island, Nuwara Eliya is a cool and collected destination with nothing but rolling hills of green, misty mountains, and water frontage for miles ahead.

Highgrove Estate is home to three grand bedrooms – the Master King suite, the Queen suite and Garden suite. The bedrooms are as resplendent indoors as they are because of their outdoors. Furnished with comfortable beds with white linen along with antique work desks, bed tables, and fitted with fireplaces, the bedrooms are fit for royalty. The classic interiors are reminiscent of a colonial English home with views of the Sri Lankan mountainside. Highgrove Estate is a tea estate bungalow which lends it its unique, picturesque charm. Surrounded by abundant nature, the bungalow is utterly beautiful and wonderful with its antique interiors and hand-crafted wooden furniture that is hard to find. There is a crackling fireplace in the magnificent living area with a protector so kids can play without a worry. The plush, white sofas and armchairs are soft as clouds. From the vintage bookcase to the wooden cabinet, each element plays a part in bringing the room together. The windows and glass doors add the allure of a natural painting to the room.
The sophisticated décor is just the icing on the cake as these natural surroundings also deliver fresh produce for your breakfast, bed-tea, and other meals. 10/10I’m writing this in the front garden enjoying amazing views and a lovely mood this early morning. Really love this breathtaking place. Welcomed with friendly hospitality Kanchana was the perfect host throughout our stay and a very clever chef. We enjoyed his cooking a lot and now we are off to enjoy our final breakfast. All the staff here are very nice and helpful and the views from this house are truly stunning! Live living up in the clouds! Love Agnes.
