Pilana Villa is a treasured repository of sentiment, a lovingly restored colonial villa situated in the rustic village of Pilana, 7km away from Galle. It is nestled by paddy fields and swaying coconut trees, and is a short walk from an ancient Buddhist temple. Feel a sense of inner peace and tranquillity envelop your soul as you venture out to explore the village on a bicycle, or take a short drive out to Galle Fort and the beaches.
The villa has 5 bedrooms on its premises. On the ground floor, there are two double bedrooms, and a third bedroom with single bed. The upper floor has a large double room with en-suite bathroom and terrace, as well as a twin bedroom with open concept attached bathroom. Each bedroom features four poster beds with mosquito nets, and a gorgeous view of the natural beauty that surrounds the villa.
There are very generous living and dining spaces which boast carefully preserved colour-stained walls and ornate antique furnishings. All these lend the villa a unique character that pays tribute to this villa’s roots. This family friendly villa aims to promote interaction between guests and there are no TVs here. However, there is a wonderful playroom for children, as well as a cosy lounge where guests can gather to chat, relax or pick out a fascinating book to delve into.
9.6/10We stayed here for 11 nights. Six adults and six kids under six-years. It was a perfect place for us to unwind and spend time together. Alex, the manager, and his wife, looked after us very well, particularly with their cooking. The villa is in a great location, and it's easy to get to some great beaches in the Galle-Mirissa area. I will certainly be back.
