The Sandals is a two-storey, oceanfront villa that exemplifies contemporary tropical luxury. With a consistent white color scheme, glassy, light flooded spaces are furnished with beautifully crafted, complementary and plush accouterments along with five-star installations that will definitely enhance delight and fun. Truly, the Sandals creates for you a highly aspirational and much deserved seaside break with an off-the-beaten-track appeal.
The villa has five air-conditioned bedrooms – the Whelk and Solarium suites are on the ground floor, and the Cowrie, Nautilus and Mother Of Pearl suites are on the second floor. The ground floor bedrooms have direct access to the swimming pool. The second-floor bedrooms open out to a long balcony with breathtaking views of the ocean. All bedrooms have dedicated bathrooms.
Aligned to about half of the villa’s ground floor covered terrace is the inviting swimming pool where you can have your fill of the water even after your morning swim at the villa’s exclusive beach.
From the property exterior’s well-cared for lawn and towering palm trees that slope down to the beach are the villa’s indoor living and dining areas. The exterior is ideal for seafood barbecue parties especially on cool days and chilly evenings. The villa also has an open-air roof deck with 360-degree views – perfect for sunset cocktails, after-dinner and winding down drinks.
Headed by a manager, the villa’s amicable staff will make everything available to you at your beck and call.
The Sandals villa is located on a slope above Balapitiya Beach. Spend a day swimming – especially from December to April. Or comb the kilometer long stretch of golden sand and chill at one of its little coves. On a day out, you can go on a river safari along the Maadu River and discover Instagram worthy flora and fauna especially birds. On another day tour, you can head to Ambalangoda to see the art of mask carving. Then to Galle Fort where you can take more photos – this time of 16th-century, historic landmarks. If you love to surf, you can also go on a road trip to the beaches of Hikkaduwa.
10/10We stayed here for 3 nights and the place was truly amazing. The location is lovely, the pool nice and the private secluded beach was excellent. The staff were very approachable and very laid back which helped our stay there immensely. Definitely 5 out of 5 from us!
