The villa has a rural location and is set within lush greenery. But it is also very close to the Talpe or the Thalpe beach, which is unique as it has many rectangular rock pools that have been carved out of dead coral reefs by the local villagers for soaking coconut husks and separating the coir. There is a turtle sanctuary too on one side of the beach. There are several other scenic beaches nearby like Unawatuna, Jungle beach, and Koggala. 10/10Thank you so much for recommending that we stay at Braganza for our Christmas week. It was the perfect choice. A truly beautiful villa in a fabulous setting with the most gorgeous interiors. It was so comfortable (the sofas, chairs, benches all upholstered so well) and we loved the way there were a variety of areas in which to sit or work, eat or be social. The bedrooms were well appointed too and there was something beautiful to see in every nook and cranny of the villa. There was so much attention to detail (wonderful books too) and the villa felt like a home rather than a rental villa. We loved the quiet. There was no road noise and no noise from neighbours. It was secluded and private. The birdsong and wildlife in the expansive garden was a delight. The house manager and his staff were very friendly and discret and worked really hard. The villa was always kept clean. And the owner gave us some champagne for Christmas which was a lovely touch.
10/10Braganza house - a tropical and interior design dream We were seeking tropical weather and beautiful vistas and got an interior design dream as well. I woke up every morning feeling inspired. Not only had we arrived in the paradise which is Sri Lanka we had also arrived at Braganza House and what a house it is. Braganza house truly shows you what the difference between an amateur and professional interior designer is. The attention to detail everywhere you look is astonishing. No space is left unattended or forgotten. The owners eye for beautiful things mixed with the staffs equal attention to detail made our stay a dream come true. The food was great and the staff was able to accommodate all our needs which was great as we are traveling with three kids under 5. We also really appreciated the range of outdoor spaces one more beautiful than the other. The pool was great and enjoyed for hours by our kids. We were honored being the third guest in the house as everything was pristine. And all amenities worked perfectly. We all recommend you to stay at this beautiful house when visiting Sri Lanka. I know we will be back
