The house is surrounded by lush greenery and scenic paddy fields, which gives the villa its name. Rice House has 5 superbly appointed bedroom suites spread throughout the property. Four of them are in the main house, while the fifth is located slightly apart, which is perfect for guests who want more privacy. It is also perfect for true nature lovers as this room is surrounded by a lavish garden. Bird life is abundant all around. It is The Pink House, which has a king bed and a bunk with two beds.
In the house, two bedrooms have king beds, one has a queen, and the other has twins. Together, the villa can sleep up to 16 guests. Their rustic décor and four-poster antique beds provide a nice colonial touch. They are all ensuite and air-conditioned. Towels and toiletries are provided.
The villa is a sanctuary of unparalleled beauty. When you stay here, you will be surrounded completely by lush greenery, which comprises paddy fields, swaying palms, wide open spaces, and forested hills. This green oasis also contains several manicured lawns. At the center of one such, you will find a large private swimming pool, which has many loungers around it.
The poolside pergola also in the traditional thatched-roof style of Sri Lanka has a wonderful sofa. You can relax here if you want more shade. There are swings and hammocks elsewhere in the garden. A large shaded balcony has an outdoor dining and lounging area.
From the inside, the house is full of true colonial culture and it also reflects the traditional designs and architecture of the island. You will find high wooden ceilings and king trusses, terracotta tiles on the floor, antique doors and windows everywhere. The spaces are decorated with antiques and collectibles from the personal collection of the villa owner.
There are two verandas. Between them is the living room where you can just relax and watch TV, or play board games with your kids. This is precious family time. If you want time for yourself, then you can simply lie low on a beanbag and relax while the kids play with the Xbox. You can also try your hand at playing the sitar, which is an ancient Indian musical instrument. Several doors lead from this room to the shaded verandah and the lush garden.
Rice House in Sri Lanka is entirely air-conditioned for your comfort. There is a fire extinguisher and first-aid kit. The bathrooms have towels and toiletries. This is a fully-staffed villa with a villa manager, a team of housekeepers, and gardeners. A private chef is available for a charge. There is also a maid’s room in the staff quarter. You can also hire the services of a massage therapist and a babysitter.
