Out back, you have a luscious tropical garden with a croquet lawn that runs the length of the property at The Long House. The natural stone boundary wall is a hotbed for native flora and a variety of plants. Towards the front is where you have an 80-ft swimming pool complete with a shallow end for children to pay securely. The pool deck is lined with numerous sun chairs under parasols to provide the right amount of shade and yet allow you to sunbathe. The villa even provides direct beach access to guests, so you can make your way to its mostly deserted sandy shores.
The Long House is a sprawling property part of the prestigious Taru Villas that offers luxury boutique hotels to travellers. At the villa, you do not have just one but many common areas that cater to guests. There is the open concept living area downstairs by the garden with a modern and minimalistic concept, a charcoal grey cabinet decorated with oriental Vats. This blend of contemporary elegance and traditional opulence can be seen throughout the villa.
There is a music room and a media room for adults with surround sound and TV as well as a playroom to keep the kids engaged. Designed by renowned architect Anjalendran, the villa features sharp interiors and plush décor. By the poolside is where you will find a dining area with plenty of seating, making it more like your private restaurant. The staff is happy to discuss meal preparations with you in advance so you can explore as many flavours as you’d like. There is a bar as well where the adults can get their evening cocktails to enjoy the magic hour.
The villa is fully-staffed with a welcoming team to make sure you have everything at hand and they are present to take any requests you may have. There is daily housekeeping and you can choose when you wish to rent a taxi to take you around. Airport transfers can be arranged. Bentota is found on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka with its stunning white sand beach, the coastline fringed by bowing palm trees and a lush display of tropical foliage. There are many intriguing places to visit nearby including the famous cinnamon estate and home, Lunuganga, of the amazing architect Geoffrey Bawa. There is the Galapota Temple where you will find the age-old Buddha statue.

10/10This was our last accommodation on our trip to Sri Lanka and it did not disappoint. A beautiful villa with attention to detail . Everywhere was immaculate. We loved the room the veranda the swimming pool area and the beach . the train at the bottom of the garden was great and we were not kept awake at night . There are places to eat close by if you don’t want to eat at the accommodation. Loved our beach set up was very special. Would highly recommend
