Villa Blue Heights is a cluster of two pavilions featuring contemporary rustic chic. Interiors are appointed with predominantly stylishly crafted, wood furnishings and weathered wood fixtures with a number of ornate, woven wood as well as in-vogue pieces. Amenities are essentially of hotel and resort quality – for each and every guest’s pure pleasure and indulgence. Constructed on the rim of a cliff ascending from the beach, Villa Blue Heights, truly, extends to you a laid-back escape with, as the villa’s name indicates, an upland atmosphere.
The villa has four bedrooms. One of these is in the central pavilion. Three other bedrooms are in the villa’s two-level pavilion. Three bedrooms have draped, double beds, and one bedroom has draped twin beds. All bedrooms have dedicated bathrooms with rain showers. Two bedrooms on the ground level of the double-level pavilion have direct access to the garden. One bedroom on the second level of the same pavilion opens out to a spacious, furnished and ocean-view balcony – ideal for breezy, sunset cocktails, after-dinner as well as winding down drinks.
On the second level of the sprawling and tiered garden’s well-maintained lawn is the 10-meter swimming pool. Jump into its mesmerizing, glassy waters for some unmindful wading, or for some splashy play. For a tan, you can stretch out on cushioned, wooden pool beds partially covered by a large umbrella on the lawn along the length of the swimming pool.
At the villa’s spacious, sunny, breezy and high-ceilinged central pavilion is the living area. Around its large couches and wooden bench, you can all get together for engaging conversation. On the central pavilion’s covered terrace is the alfresco dining area with its long dinner table that seats 12. Here, you can all indulge in authentic local specialties – as well as Western staples – masterfully prepared by the in-house chef at the villa’s well-equipped, modern, indoor kitchen.
Tasked to render the regular services of the villa is a staff consisting of a gardener, a laundry helper as well as housekeepers. In addition to the chef, a babysitter may, upon your request, be called in. Their services come with a separate charge.
Villa Blue Heights is based in Dikwella. Walking distance from the villa are two marvelous swimming beaches where you can spend the entire day in the water. A short walk farther is the town proper – the springboard to Wewurukannala Vihara where you will see the 50-meter high Buddha – the tallest in Sri-Lanka – as well as paintings depicting his life story. Move further on to Hoo-maniya – the one and only natural and spectacular blow-hole in Sri-Lanka.
10/10The grounds are so beautiful, the grass seems to stretch forever. Kumar is an exceptional host and cook and they really went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. We will definitely return.
10/10After 38 years of being away from Sri Lanka, this place of seaside beauty is a breath of fresh air. Reconnecting family memories and laughter in this beautiful villa have created new memories. Thank you very much. - Michael and Vicky De Soyza
10/10The stay was excellent. We felt very much at home and very comfortable in the open aspect buildings. The short walk to the beach, we swam everyday and the pool was a great way to see the sunset. Looking forward to coming back.
10/10What an amazing experience. We were amazed by the view and the place. We will remember this place a lot.
