Gelegen in Thalpe, Sri Lanka op enkele minuten van het populaire Galle Fort met zijn historische rijkdom en toeristische attracties, is Villa Royal Indigo een luxe toevluchtsoord met vier slaapkamers en uitstekend ingerichte gemeenschappelijke ruimtes, ontworpen door een lokale architect. Gemaakt met behulp van antieke meubels, teruggewonnen hout, en natuurlijke materialen, de villa straalt een charme die moeilijk te vinden is in grote steden. Met de Indische Oceaan die de tropische tuinen en het privézwembad flankeert, weet u dat u een goede deal heeft gesloten! De prachtige Nederlands geïnspireerde interieurs zijn absoluut Sri Lankaans, en heten u welkom voor een goede tijd.
Er zijn vier slaapkamers in Royal Indigo Villa en elk van hen is voorzien van airconditioning en uitgerust met kingsize bedden en een met tweepersoons- of queensize bedden, afhankelijk van uw voorkeur. De slaapkamers zijn verdeeld over de begane grond, mezzanine en bovenste verdieping, waardoor u de kans heeft om te genieten van het uitzicht op de oceaan, ongeacht waar u zich bevindt in de villa.
De hoofdslaapkamer is de ruimste en ligt direct aan het zwembad met directe toegang. Het heeft zelfs zijn eigen dompelbad aan de achterkant voor de grootst mogelijke privacy! Er zijn en-suite badkamers die even luxueus zijn met badkuipen en douches, evenals loungeruimtes met TV's.

Voor een strandvilla levert Royal Indigo alle veelbelovende elementen met een betegeld privé zoutwaterzwembad dat comfortabel uitkijkt op de Indische Oceaan. Aan de overkant van de tuinen en het hek met kaneelstokken ligt het zandstrand van Thalpe, waar de golven van de oceaan tegen de kust kabbelen. Het terras bij het zwembad is voorzien van ligbedden en er is zelfs een Weber BBQ ingebouwd voor de heerlijkste middaggrill met vrienden en familie. Meer naar het strand toe, vindt u een stranddouche en voetwasgelegenheid voor uw gemak.
Op de begane grond vindt u de open woonkamer van Royal Indigo met uitzicht op het zwembad waar de oceaan aan de overkant ligt. De traditioneel ingerichte ruimte biedt modern comfort in de vorm van echte Australische kalfsleren sofa's die uitstekend geschikt zijn voor een middagdutje. Er zijn bepaalde elementen in het decor die herinneren aan het verleden van Sri Lanka via de bladzijden uit de geschiedenis. Op de tussenverdieping is er nog een loungeruimte met banken en een tv voor een mediaruimte waarvan u kunt genieten!
De villa is in wezen beschikbaar om te huren als een bed and breakfast en u kunt altijd upgraden naar een compleet Sri-Lankaans ontbijt bereid door professionele in-house chef-koks. Met heerlijke gerechten bereid met lokaal geproduceerde en zelf geteelde ingrediënten, zou het de beste maaltijd zijn die u ooit heeft geproefd! De eethoek bevindt zich ook op de begane grond, zodat u zelfs kunt genieten van een heerlijk uitzicht op uw maaltijd!
Afgezien van de vele voorzieningen die beschikbaar zijn voor de gasten, is er een team van professionele en vriendelijke mensen om voor u te zorgen tijdens uw verblijf. Er is een dagelijkse schoonmaakdienst om de kamers en het woongedeelte schoon te houden, er is een wasservice beschikbaar, massages tegen extra kosten, en ook andere nuttige diensten!
De villa kon niet idealer gelegen zijn in Thalpe, naast verschillende andere luxueuze vakantiewoningen die de trots van Sri Lanka zijn. De historische stad Galle, waar het Galle Fort op de Werelderfgoedlijst van UNESCO staat, moet u zeker bezoeken. Er zijn ook talloze restaurants en cafés in de omgeving die wachten om ontdekt te worden!
10/10Other than the fantastic location right on the ocean front with sea turtles and crabs galore, the highlight was the excellent service and spectacular food. The chef, ex of the Intercontinental Doha, was delightful and varied and catered for discerning “foodie” adults and young and very young children. The villa team was discreet but ever at hand to tidy up and fill up (the glasses!). Trips in people carriers and tuk-tuks were reliably arranged and the 24hr security professional. Nearby some of. the local bars/restaurants have disappeared post COVID but there are beach bars at short tuk-tuk ride away. Galle is a fabulous town with markets and shopping (particularly for the ladies) with some excellent restaurants- though the service was not up to previous high SriLankan standards (post COVID I fear). But the best food is at the villa anyway. Go for the SriLankan breakfasts and the seafood BBQ - never seen so many lobsters on one table. Highly recommended villa. Mention too of villa finder who helped us out after being “bumped” from our first choice.
10/10What a beautiful villa, the pictures do not do any justice! After you have blown away by the well-decorated interior and amazing views, you cannot help but realize that its perfection is completed by the team of wonderful staff -> from service to the yummiest food ever! Thank you Lakmal, Chef Janaka, & team for looking after our every need. We loved it here so much and if fate allows it, we will surely be back again.
9.4/10We stayed as a family of 6 for a week and had a great time. The Villa is excellent and the staff even better. Janaka put all of the local restaurants to shame - a truly wonderful cook. We spent a lot of time surfing in Weligama and trips to Galle in the evening, although there are a lot of great restaurants nearby too. One downside is the noise - Road on one side and roaring surf that never stops on the other - nevertheless it would be hard to beat.

10/10Stepping in off the road Royal Indigo Villa is like another world. Welcomed by staff, manager Lakmal, who organized our stay and activities, chef Janaka who had a delicious lunch waiting (and many other great meal), housekeeper Leslie who kept all looking beautiful around the 8 of us including a 16 months old, Ranga who drove us around the district with ease. The house is new, spacious and airy with shutters leting in the breeze & the sound of the waves. The bedrooms are all in separate areas of the house with private verandah and lovely views. We loved the pool and the lawn with the beach just outside the fence.
